Spring Newsletter 2025

Easter Greetings to our Residents, and may the upcoming break be all you wish for.
As you are aware from our Autumn Newsletter 2024, many new initiatives were recently introduced in Broadford. Our Website is there to keep you updated on all Association Activities and events: www.broadfordresidents.ie Should you wish to email the Secretary on Association matters, the following address: broadfordresidents@gmail.com – will facilitate you.
Neighbourhood Watch:
Thank you to all of you who turned out to the introductory meeting held in Our Lady's School in January. We are happy to report that the final roll-out of this worthwhile project is at an advanced stage: 5 Co-ordinators are now in situ; WhatsApp groups continue to be organised on the various Roads; the Community Garda who has been most helpful throughout, is very happy with the progress to date. It is hoped that the official signage will be erected shortly by dlrcoco. Individual Stickers for each household will also be available, as soon as the Scheme goes live. See Website for updates. Should you become aware of any questionable activity within the Estate, you can contact the Community Garda, in Dundrum, phone 01 – 666 5600.
CPR / Defib Training:
Building on the many expressions of interest last year and on the success of the first CPR Training session, we are happy to announce that another session will take place in Saint Attractas' Junior School Hall, on Wed, 21 May 2025, ( 7:30 – 9:30 pm) Expressions of interest for this training session can be made through our email: broadfordresidents@gmail.com or phone Máírín on 087/ 2904 831. As numbers are limited, early booking on a first come first served basis is essential. A waiting list will apply, and subject to demand, it may be possible to run a second session
Painting:
We thank all of you who have cut back the green overhang from your back gardens. Unfortunately, marking and staining is destroying the paintwork. If your growth is a culprit, we would appreciate a clip back as soon as possible, please. This year our painting project will include the lanes/walkways and Stonemasons Way.
Planting:
Additional Perennials in the green areas and colour in the various flower beds throughout the estate to be added shortly. Extra Hands are required for general Clean-up and Weeding in our Green Areas and walkways. If you have a free hour or two, we would love to hear from you. PLEASE email your contact details & availability. Meantime, householders might pay particular attention to the green patch outside their own home, including the proliferation of weeds appearing around boundary walls and between footpaths and Roads!
Annual Collection:
The annual Subscription for 2025/26 remains at €15.00 per household. No increase! Introduced last year on a trial basis, electronic payment will again be available, as will the envelope method of collection. Envelopes will be delivered in advance, and the collection will be taken up in June by official collectors wearing Res Association ID.Mid-Summer Celebration - FAMILY FUN-DAY
