Spring Newsletter 2024
Hopefully the arrival of Spring, a season of growth and hope has put a pep in our step. Leaving behind the long and arduous winter, a winter of challenges too numerous to mention, thankfully it is now time to wish each of you, the joys and peace of this Easter Season.
Since publication of our last Newsletter, your Committee have been actively involved with weekly litter picks, removal of graffiti, maintenance of the existing flowerbeds, and planting colourful Christmas displays of cyclamens.
Current Snippets: We are happy to inform you of the installation of two defibrillators within our Estate and we are indebted to dlrcoco for their funding towards the purchase and erection of these lifesaving devices. Erected at the Scout Den on Broadford Rise, and at the lower end of the Estate - on the gable wall of No 60A Broadford Hill, - it is our intention to give a full formal presentation at the forthcoming AGM on all aspects of the use and upkeep of these devices. We deeply appreciate the generosity of the Scout Den personnel and the householder on Broadford Hill for providing a home for the respective Defibrilators. ** If any of you readers have experience in the use of these machines, we would dearly love to hear from you. Please contact broadfordresidents@gmail.com. we are seeking expressions of interest, from Residents on all roads within the estate - health care or ancillary personal in particular, - to become associated with the project.
On another non related matter, we have organised a familiarisation programme and a training session in the use of CPR. Places on this course are limited, so we respectfully request expressions of interest to be made to broadfordresidents@gmail.com or by contacting one of the Association representatives at your very earlies convenience. The training sessions will last approx 1.5 house and will take place on Thursday 25 April @ 8pm. Venue St. Attractas' Junior School. No previous knowledge or medical skill is required.
Date for your Diary.
The AGM: Thursday, 30th May BSJ, GAA Clubhouse, 8pm
Do please save the date, and perhaps you might even consider allowing your name forward for the new committee. As some of our current members are stepping down this year, we are seeking more representation from each Road. Please Consider!
Annual Collection:
The Annual subscription remains at 15 Euro for the coming year. Collections in the official envelope will be made during the month of June. We hope to have an update at the AGM on the feasibility of electronic collection.
Graffiti: Intense disappointment at the recent spate of graffiti on the walls of the Main Road, & Stonemasons & on the related service boxes. Thanks to all the cleaners ......!
