Residents working with the Council
This post spotlights how you can contact the
council directly if you notice an issue in the estate which is not being
addressed and to give an example of how responsive they can be.
DLRCOCO
The local council for our estate is Dun Laoghaire Rathdown. The provide a host of services to residents and importantly maintain the public areas, roads, signage, lighting, footpaths and green areas in our estate.
Broadford Residents Association
The Residents Association supports their activities with Weekly Litter Picks, Painting of public areas, Graffiti Removal, Planting (The beds throughout the Estate) as well weeding and general clean ups.
In addition to all the great work that these groups, employees and volunteers do on a regular basis there may be occasions where residents in the estate notice something that is not being addressed.
If you notice something we would encourage you to report it to the council directly. There are three ways of reporting an issue directly to the Council
- Online via the "Report and Issue" section of the DLRCOCO website www.dlrcoco.ie
- Email info@dlrcoco.ie
- Call the Civic Hub on 01 205 4700
You can also email broadfordresidents@gmail.com if you want to bring the issue to the attention of the Residents Association
Reporting and Issue via the Website
The process is very quick, you can just fill out a form with the details of the issue online. This seems to be the best way to report an issue.
When you submit the form you get a CRM number. You should take note of this so that you can follow up on your request later.
Depending on the request you may get a response very quickly or within a couple of weeks, but in my experience the team in the council is very good to follow up once you submit a request through this portal.
If you do not hear back or wish to follow up you can call the Civic Hub in Dun Laoghaire on 01 205 4700 and quote your CRM number for an update.

Good News Story
This week I noticed on our street that one of the new young trees was leaning to the side on my street. The support stake had gone.
After submitting the issue with a photo to DLRCOCO through the website on a Friday evening, I got a call on the following Tuesday morning to say the team from the Parks Department would be out to straighten the tree that day.
