Marlay Park Concerts 2026 - Road Closures
Please see the below information as received by DLR in relation to the upcoming concerts.
Dear Resident,
As part of the traffic management arrangements for the Marlay Park Concerts 2026, a number of temporary road closures will be implemented on event days to ensure the safe entry and exit of concert attendees.
A soft road closure will be implemented on a number of roads from approximately 9.00pm, during which time access will be permitted for residents only. A full road closure will then be implemented at the end of each event to safeguard pedestrians. It is currently estimated that full closures will take place at approximately 10.00pm each night, with roads reopening only when An Garda Síochána deem it safe to do so.
Please note that all road closures are implemented at the discretion of An Garda Síochána and may be subject to change in the interest of public safety. Residents' passes are not valid during the periods of closure. Access for emergency vehicles will be facilitated at all times.
Festival Republic, the event organiser, will issue notifications in relation to these road closures, including timings or any changes on the day.
Residents who wish to receive these notifications are encouraged to register directly with Festival Republic by contacting enquiries@festivalrepublic.com
We would encourage all residents in the vicinity of Marlay Park to avail of this service to remain informed of traffic management measures throughout the concert period
Road Closure Information:
It is estimated that the following soft road closures will be put in place at approximately 9.00pm each night:
- The bus lane on Taylor's Lane will close to allow for the operation of the dedicated event bus service. Grange Road will remain open to two-way traffic until the full road closure comes into effect.
- Stonemasons Way from the junction with Broadford Road to the Barton Road East roundabout will be restricted to local resident access and Dublin Bus only. Through traffic will not be permitted.
- Stonemasons Way from the Broadford Road roundabout, and Broadford Road as far as the junction with Ballinteer Avenue, will also be restricted to local access and Dublin Bus only, with no through traffic permitted.
It is estimated that the following roads will close at approximately 10.00pm each night:
- Taylor's Lane from the junction with Grange Road to Whitechurch Road will be closed to traffic. A diversion will be in place via Whitechurch Road towards Sarah Curran Avenue.
- Stonemasons Way from the junction with Grange Road to the Barton Road East roundabout will be closed.
- Grange Road from Taylor's Lane to the Ballinteer Avenue / Brehon Field Road junction will be closed. Vehicles will not be able to exit housing estates along this section of Grange Road or the Lidl car park. Traffic leaving the College Road coach park will be directed via College Road and Harold's Grange Road towards the M50.
- College Road from Whitechurch Road to Grange Road will be closed to general traffic to allow vehicles to exit the College Road car park.
- Grange Road from Sarah Curran Avenue to Taylor's Lane will be closed to vehicles.
- Whitechurch Road from the Taylor's Lane and College Road junctions will be closed to allow vehicles to exit the College Road car park.
Residents of Whitechurch Estate and Grangebrook Estate will continue to have access during the closures via an alternative route. Residents should travel via Edmondstown Road, turn left onto Tibradden Lane, continue to the roundabout with Kilmashogue Lane, and then travel down Whitechurch Road towards the estates. These roads are not subject to event road closures. While some concert-related traffic may be encountered, access will remain available without needing to wait for closures to be lifted.
